Ep063: The Beatles Records on Vee Jay with Bruce Spizer

In 1963 The Beatles were unknown in the USA and couldn't secure a record deal until Vee-Jay Records, a nearly broke Chicago-based rhythm & blues label, agreed to take them on. The next two years was an adventure in legal backflips from various record labels who were clamouring to hold onto the world's most popular band. Today Beatles expert, historian and fan Bruce Spizer takes us through that time as laid out in his book "The Beatles Records on Vee-Jay". Plus we discuss the Whiplash LP record mailer, very cool to know about if you sell and ship records!
